Round 2 Catch up!

Lee Richardson Cup

Over 35s

Caspers Barbarians

The O35s Barbarians ventured up the Hume Highway to take on Bankstown Sports for round 2 of the Lee Richardson Cup. Bankstown came out firing with the bat and kept us busy in the left field for the first two innings - sorry Jamie and Mel for making you work so hard. Barbarians remained scoreless but rallied in the third to get 5 across the plate. We eventually succumbed but we went down fighting with great pitching from Luke and Trevor and some fantastic infield plays by De, Mel, Daniel, Willie, Jamie and Damien which resulted in some text book run-outs at 1st and 2nd. We're firming up our fielding and batting and looking forward to what round 3 delivers.

Caspers Crusaders

The Caspers Crusaders were at full strength for their round 2 clash against Red Sox Stingers.

New recruit Will B started on the mound for the good guys in Green and Gold

Unfortunately the Stingers got off to good start getting 3 runs in the first inning but with good patient hitting Caspers fought back. Will's consistent pitching, good fielding and then Phill R coming onto the mound in relief kept the game as  a see-sawing affair and as the dust finally settled it was Caspers who came out in front 12 - 10.

Many Thanks once again to our small but vocal crowd, Liam our reliable scorer and to Slammers for supplying the umpiring.

Caspers Raptors

What a game today from our little RAPTORS, I feel so proud already how much better they are getting, and I know use all must feel the same ... but today our player of the match is the biggest star we are proud of him and that's Kade, he did unbelievable on the field stopping multiple balls one after the other , and everything we did at training with his batting he did the exact same today and nailed every hit, the biggest thing we took notice for though was his listening, Kade can be a little distracted as we know but not today! Well done little dude so so proud of you keep it up.

Our 2 new team rules are

1) run fast

2) listen

Practice this with your little ones raptor family.

Caspers Turbos

Casper’s Turbos had a fantastic game this week.

Kids came out firing with the bat, with some massive hits, and backed it up with some amazing fielding.

We have been learning to throw to first, play the base, and throw home at fielding. And the kids absolutely nailed it!

Love seeing the kids with a massive smile in there faces - just what team sport is all about!

Congratulations again to Macgyver for Player of the Week, and Malakai for Best Fielder.

Caspers Grasshoppers

The interminable Caspers Grasshoppers took on the defiant Red Sox Cubs at Woodlands in round 2 of the 2020 season. It was a fast paced game with solid hitting from all players on both sides. Jaxon and Rhyan both got opponents out at 2nd and 1st base earning Jaxon the Inspirational Design Joinery player of the week award and Rhyan the Maccas award. Stand outs were Dexter's massive hit deep into centre field, Bennie's great attitude to chasing down the ball, Tilly's and Charlotte's consistent great batting and Eric's huge improvement in both batting and fielding. The entire team has improved their fielding out of site.

A big thank you to our main sponsors Little Buddies Early Learning Centre and to Darren, Nathan and Grant for your assistance on the field.

Caspers Cyclones

The Cyclones played really well this week with the team working on making outs to other bases, not just 1st. The team fielded well making outs, and hustling to field the ball, being another thing we practiced at training. Congratulations to Ash on being awarded out player of the week, with plenty of hustle around the bases and some great hits.

Caspers Sandlot

Round 2 started for The Sandlot under gloomy skies at the sacred grass of the Casperdome this week, however that did not stop Sandlot getting in and bringing their A games.

In the field first against a fired up Red Sox Bandits, Noah started strong again on the mound. Again Sandlot had some quality at bats and some clever base running to get on the board early.

The second and third innings started with the Bandits looking strong with the bat, however some great fielding and good pitching quickly got Sandlot out of the inning and back into bat. Again Sandlot batted well and ran hard, pushing across more runs to maintain a comfortable lead.

Jess took the ball and finished the game off in style to get Sandlot their second win of the season 12-2.

Rookie Carter, Tommie, Harry, Nicola, Chris, Bray and Jacob all had excellent at bats and hit the ball hard. Seth again was a wall behind the plate and Noah and Jess threw well from the mound.

This week Chris took the McDonalds award and Tommie with his important RBIs was this weeks Player of the Week.

Last week Nicola received the McDonalds award, and in his first game ever with some great hitting Carter was the Player of the Week.
